Colin Kaepernick, former QB for the San Francisco 49ers, is not fully supported by his fans. The 35-year-old athlete has been making the news ever since the rumors of his return have been surfacing. Kaepernick was released by the 49ers in 2016 for his controversial politics on the field and has been a free agent ever since.

Kaepernick would often take a knee before the American national anthem would start playing to symbolize his support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. The NFL as well as the team didn’t approve of his political beliefs being involved on the gridiron and thus made the move to release him. Officially, it was said that Kaepernick was released because he didn’t fit into the team’s future plans but the fans knew better. 7 years later, he’s trying to make a comeback but he will have to face his fair share of the music.

On the latest episode of the Jason Whitlock show, Steve Kim joins the show to talk about the return of Kaepernick that’s been a hot topic recently. The pair talk about how Kaepernick’s fans are hypocrites for supporting him in 2016 and stating how they will boycott the NFL if he isn’t taken back to the league. To which, Jason added, ” The thing about his supporters is they’re not going to admit that they were wrong. The people that fed Colin gas the entire time saying you’re doing the right thing you’re getting screwed over blah blah and now here this guy is seven years later at 35 this guy doesn’t know what to do..”

They further discussed how Kaepernick is desperately begging for a job in the NFL now. Kaepernick sent a letter to the New York Jets requesting them to let him replace veteran QB Aaron Rodgers after his injury against the Bills. Unfortunately, his request was denied as the Jets chose to bank on Zach Wilson as their new QB. Lastly, Jason took another major dig at Kaepernick’s situation when he captioned the video with, “The man who once compared the National Football League to slavery now so desperately wants back on the plantation, he’s willing to start at the bottom.” With all these controversies circling around, the fans are curious if Kaepernick will actually get to play anytime soon.

Colin Kaepernick’s future in the NFL
