The Michigan Pro Day, a star-studded event, drew over 150 NFL representatives. Interestingly, all those eyes were on one player — quarterback J.J. McCarthy. According to reports, McCarthy wowed everyone, even though workout videos have not been broadcast yet. He even made a long throw — a touchdown pass of over 60 yards.

Adding a heartwarming touch, McCarthy’s former coach, Jim Harbaugh, and colleagues Jesse Minter and Ben Herbert were present to witness their star shine. The pride went both ways, as McCarthy enthusiastically campaigned for his wide receiver, Roman Wilson, urging teams to consider him in the upcoming draft. A lighthearted moment surfaced between the two amidst the talk, showcasing their strong connection.

J.J. McCarthy wasn’t the only Michigan star stealing the show at the Pro Day. While McCarthy fielded media questions, his favorite WR, Roman Wilson, provided a lighthearted moment by playfully splashing water on him. However, this camaraderie wasn’t a one-off. McCarthy has been singing Wilson’s praises since the season opener, calling him “one of the most special players in the country.” He added, “Any team that drafts him is going to be extremely blessed to have him.”

The sentiment seems mutual. Wilson also spoke after hearing McCarthy’s praise, saying, “He believes in me, he trusts in me. That gives me the confidence to go out there and show the world who I am.” This strong connection between quarterback and receiver paints a clear picture of a brewing bromance, promising big things for whichever team drafts them.

However, all eyes are on McCarthy, who is expected to be the first Michigan player selected. Despite the natural focus on the quarterback, McCarthy praised Wilson’s talent, saying any team that drafts him will be lucky.
