The Coach Prime Effect is real and the numbers just surfaced to prove the statement. One of the best decisions that the University of Colorado made might be hiring Deion Sanders who entered the program in December 2022 as the HC. Ever since then, the Prime Effect became a blessing to Colorado’s local economy with a staggering $113.2 million spike. But that’s not all.

Coach Prime led the Buffs who suffered 1-11 in 2022 to become the only team in the nation that had their spring game aired live on ESPN! He garnered a 600% increase in the program’s social media followers and boosted ticket sales and merchandise. The recent Colorado annual financial report for fiscal year 2023 proves that Deion Sanders is blessed with a Midas Touch.

Before delving into the details of the University of Colorado Boulder’s annual financial report to the NCAA for FY2023, what we need to know is that the report only documented the period from July 2022 to June 2023. This means that Coach Prime’s work in Boulder began only halfway through the reporting phase since he joined in December. FY2023 saw a drastic growth in total revenue at $127,028,292, which is a shocking $32.2 million spike from FY2022. This is a CU Athletics record that crossed the $100 million revenue mark for the first time under Coach Prime.

CU Athletics earned most of its income through ticket sales, generating $15.7 million in FY2023. Out of this figure, Coach Prime’s football team contributed 83% of the revenue with $13 million. While the collective CU Athletics department fell in a -$9,086,178 deficit for FY2023, the football program was the only one with a $15.1 million profit along with men’s basketball with $1.3 million. But Deion Sanders is also boosting the local economy.
