This season ended as a heartbreak for the Florida State Seminoles as they faced a controversial snub for the playoffs. While it was disheartening and shocking for the players, their quarterback Jordan Travis has received a special nod. Though his time with the Seminoles ended on a poor note, his stats show he did all he could for the team.

Jordan Travis has arguably been one of the “finds of the season” and has created a strong case for Heisman Trophy winner. The 23-year-old was one of the reasons that FSU chipped in with a stellar season and made 13 wins on the trot! Now, as the results came out for the Heisman Trophy top 10 list, Travis earned a spot in the top 5! This goes to show that the player had a terrific season and has a bright future ahead in the NFL.

Just days out from the NCAA 2o23 playoffs, the organization released its list of top 10 rankings of Heisman Trophy contenders. For the FSU fans, they finally have something to cheer about as QB Jordan Travis, the team’s QB featured in the 5th place.

Talking about the 2023 season, Travis’ numbers are impressive! He accounted for 2,756 rushing yards coupled with 20 touchdowns. These are no mean feat and just show the impact a player’s performance can have on the team result.

The Heisman Trophy mention would take some time to sink in for the “devastated” quarterback with the recent playoff snub. Now another college head coach has pitched in with his views regarding the same.

Oh, to be an FSU player must be hurting at the moment! After several panelists and even former players criticized CFP’s antics behind leaving out FSU, Missouri’s HC Eliah Drinkwitz has joined the list. Drinkwitz questioned the committee’s motives and highlighted that it was just irrational.

He spoke about the same on SiriusXM College Sports Radio- “If we’re going to really have hard conversations, let me ask you this – If a team in the playoff has a star player injured, are they going to be removed from the playoff, and then we put Florida State back in? That to me was complete nonsensical rationalization.”

Drinkwitz also admitted that the rules could now change at any given instance and there’s also a change in perspective of things about the teams that make the playoffs. As things stand now, Alabama is moving ahead in the playoffs while the Seminoles prepare for the Orange Bowl matchup against Georgia.
