The new face of Colorado football, Travis Hunter
In the wake of his breakout season in 2023, Travis Hunter has emerged as a focal point of Colorado’s new football program. Deion Sanders completed his first entire season as the head coach of the team and emphasized a vital focus on developing young players. Despite missing several games due to injuries, Hunter has had a mammoth impact on the team’s offense and defense. He was the first Colorado player to receive consensus first-team All-American honors since Nate Solder in 2010. As per Bill Landis and Doug Lesmerises, Travis Hunter eventually emerged as the face of the team and chips the head coach’s son and his friend Shedeur Sanders. “Shedeur is a top 10 quarterback in college football, and Hunter is a top 30 receiver,” the two analysts agreed while discussing their futures. Sanders has been surprisingly good in 2023 and emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in college football. However, he still has a long way to go to fulfill his potential and become the next face of the team if he performs well during the 2024 season.
Sanders vs Hunter on stats
While Shedeur Sanders excelled as Colorado’s starting quarterback in the previous season, Travis Hunter’s contributions on both sides of the ball must be noticed. Sanders showcased his passing prowess with over 3,200 yards and 27 touchdowns. He has highlighted his abilities to lead the Buffaloes’ offense.

In contrast, Hunter’s impact extended beyond traditional offensive statistics, as he recorded impressive receiving numbers, crucial tackles, and interceptions on defense. He recorded 57 catches for 721 yards, five touchdowns on offense, 30 total tackles, five passes defended, and three interceptions on defense. With Hunter in the pole position to win the Heisman Trophy, Sanders is also a close prospect. Who do you think will have a brighter future? Let us know in the comments below.
