Gone are the days when the starting quarterback position in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster was a no-thinker. 7x Lombardi winner Tom Brady hung up his cleats this February for good. Since then, there has been a vacuum in the Pewter Pirates’ pocket. Two candidates have emerged this offseason as the likely successor to TB12. And the retired icon has a piece of exceptional advice that may help one of them gain an edge over the other.

With Kyle Trask already warming up to be a starter after Brady’s departure, the Buccaneers also roped in former Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns passer Baker Mayfield. Fellow Buccaneers’ superfans and journalists replied with images of Tom Brady himself, smiling during training. ‘Stank B—–d’ also hilariously replied to one such picture, claiming that it was “one of his [Brady’s] stunt doubles for sure.

Brady hasn’t openly picked a horse in this race between Trask and Mayfield. However, someone very close to TB12 has.

Brady’s former tight end weapon from the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rob Gronkowski, thinks one of the two current quarterbacks fighting for the starting spot has a clear advantage. Gronk has his money on former Heisman winner Baker Mayfield. On a recent appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, the 4x Super Bowl champion said, “I think Baker will win the quarterback position.

I believe Baker will win it in the end. He’ll be put in the position to succeed. He’s got great teammates around him, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans leading them at receiver. They got a great defense around them,” Gronk added.
