Geno Smith is the poster boy of resurgence. When the NFL world was included to believe that the Seahawks were destined for failure, the QB proved the naysayers wrong. Russel Wilson’s absence from the Seahawks’ roster made many believe that they wouldn’t be able to survive on their own. But Smith, a second-round draft pick who was overlooked, took over the reins to lead Seattle to a playoff appearance. Now that he’s risen to prominence, the QB seems to be in demand.

The Jets have been quite busy this offseason. With a quarterback crisis of their own, they may be in search of a veteran to balance out the inexperience of their current leading man. Zach Wilson hasn’t been on the receiving end of good press in the last few months. His alleged lack of leadership qualities alongside the disharmony within the Jets’ locker room may have endangered his standing as a franchise QB.

This is why having a level-headed, veteran quarterback at the helm makes more sense. According to a report from Sports Illustrated, the Jets are eyeing Geno Smith. Having started out his career there, the franchise would be inclined to welcome back a familiar face. But Smith is not the only one the Jets are eyeing.
