Recently, a group of NFL analysts spoke about a few quarterbacks who have a point to prove. The nominees were Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, and Dak Prescott.

One particular subject of interest is Cam Newton, who is set to join the New England Patriots.

Newton is a player who has to make the team and he is already guaranteed half a million dollars. Unfortunately, he hardly got any game time in the 2019 season. Therefore, his fitness is rather dubious.

It is also worth noting that 32 teams overlooked him for several months until the Patriots finally made a move to scoop him up.

Admittedly, Cam Newton has to prove his mettle to the Patriots. In other words, Newton has the most to lose out of all other quarterbacks mentioned.

Can Cam Newton fit into the Patriots squad?

Considering that the Patriots just lost a star quarterback in Tom Brady, anyone filling in for him is in for a tough ride. Cam Newton needs a proper injury-free season and has to be in full fitness to be able to live up to the expectations.

It can be argued that New England is one team where he can really prove his mettle. Being a hugely successful franchise, Newton has every chance to make it big.

It is also worth mentioning that he is really looking forward to the new NFL season. Newton recently posted on Instagram and he quoted the boxing legend, Muhammad Ali.

He wrote, “I hated every minute of training, but I said, don’t quit! Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion!”

The 31-year old is back in action after two injuries stunted his performance, effectively shelving him over the past two seasons. Luckily, all appears to be well and he is fully healthy and should be able to take the Gillette Stadium by storm.
