Carson Wentz Trade Confirmed; Indianapolis Colts Win the Race for Eagles Quarterback

After a long and arduous season in 2020, Carson Wentz has finally secured a move away from the Philadelphia Eagles as per NFL insider reports. The Frank Reich-led Indianapolis Colts have secured the signing of Wentz for the upcoming season.

The Matt Nagy-coached Chicago Bears were also reportedly in talks for a possible trade deal involving Wentz. But that did not work out as the Colts have eventually won the race for the Eagles quarterback.

The Carson Wentz-led Philadelphia Eagles suffered a disastrous outing in the NFL last year. They finished right at the bottom of the NFC East behind archrivals Dallas Cowboys. Wentz was made the scapegoat for their sub-par displays.

The former North Dakota man ended his season with 2,600+ passing yards with 16 touchdowns. But he also threw an embarrassing 15 interceptions in 12 games.

Former HC Doug Pederson had a fallout with the misfiring veteran and started rookie QB Jalen Hurts for the last 2 games of their campaign.

Indianapolis Colts secure their quarterback in the form of Carson Wentz

As per the latest reports from NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Eagles have successfully offloaded their wantaway quarterback.

They will receive a 2021 3rd-round pick and a conditional 2022 2nd-rounder from Indianapolis Colts in exchange for Carson Wentz.

The source further added that the 2022 conditional 2nd-round pick becomes a 1st-round selection if Wentz plays 75% of the snaps in 2021, or 70% and the Colts make the Playoffs.
