Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Patrick Mahomes, was arrested for aggravated sexual battery. He was released from custody in May after posting a $100,000 bond. As the Kansas City Star reported, he briefly appeared in Johnson County District Court in Texas and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.

While Jackson has been refraining from making any public appearances, the Mahomes are fighting one challenge at a time. But again, every story has two sides. As reported in Kansas City Star, the restaurant owner (plaintiff) made shocking revelations about her situation.

The Kansas City Star reported previously that Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Kansas City was being vandalized repeatedly, and the accused was facing constant threats amid her sexual assault allegations against Patrick Mahomes. In the first week of August, the owner decided to shut down her restaurant after an incident involving the Chiefs’ QB’s bother, Jackson Mahomes.

He was accused of pushing a waitperson and forcibly kissing the owner, an incident caught on the restaurant’s surveillance camera. The video depicted the younger Mahomes grabbing and kissing the woman near an office desk, with her wiping her mouth afterward. The closure comes amid the incident’s aftermath, showing Mahomes grabbing the woman around her throat multiple times.

The plaintiff/owner, Aspen Vaughn, reported a significant 75% decrease in business and expressed feeling unsafe: “I feel like since it’s occurred, my safety is definitely at risk. I’m feeling attacked by people I’ve never met. Why do victims not come forward? It’s because this is how they get treated.” An administrative staff member informed the Star that the restaurant’s location is now up for lease.

Brandan Davies, Jackson Mahomes’ attorney, kept insisting his client has “done nothing wrong”. Jackson, who pleaded “not guilty”, continues to keep himself away from the public eye and has been restrained from contacting the accused. The whole episode and Vaughn’s reported loss come as another hit, especially after Jackson’s previous lawsuit against the fashion giant, DIOR.

Surviving Against $8.9 Billion Corp Infringement Lawsuit

Vaughn assumed ownership of the former Llwelyn’s Pub in 2021, rebranding it as Dior Restaurant with her then-husband. However, legal issues arose when luxury brand Christian Dior Couture took legal action, alleging trademark infringement due to using the “Dior” brand name. Christian Dior Couture holds trademark registrations for the DIOR mark globally.

The lawsuit, filed in the US District Court for the District of Kansas, claimed that Dior Restaurant LLC even promoted “Dior Bag Giveaways” featuring counterfeit bags. A cease-and-desist letter was issued in March 2022, urging a name change and removal of all DIOR-related items; compliance was lacking.
