Despite the rivalries on the field between teams in the NFL, it is common to see friendships blossom off the field between players. Kansas City Chiefs WR Juju smith- Schuster had a tragic accident befall his family. His brother, Lawson, was involved in a major car accident. Luckily Lawson survived the incident, but it resulted in him having a leg amputation as an aftermath.

In an attempt to lift his spirits. Lawson’s family wanted to surprise the youngster at the hospital and a certain Seattle Seahawks star, who happens to be Lawson’s favorite player, was a part of their surprise for him.

During Lawson’s hospital stay, his family, including his brother Juju-Smith Schuster, also came to visit him. As a surprise, they presented him with a Geno Smith jersey, which touched him deeply. Geno even made a video call to Lawson during the visit to personally express his well-wishes and support. It was a heartwarming gesture that meant a lot to Lawson and his family during a difficult time.

Recently, Geno Smith agreed to a new three-year contract worth up to $105 million with the Seahawks. They also named him the Comeback Player of the year for the 2022 season. He ended the season with 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. With the new contract in place, the Seahawks will expect the 32-year-old QB to continue this performance in the upcoming season as well.

The free agency dilemma for Juju-smith Schuster.

While his brother recovers in the hospital, the free agency period is knocking on the doors of Juju-smith Schuster. The WR had signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs after moving from the Pittsburgh Steelers but he has not been able to perform at his peak like in his 2018 season. Now with the free agency starting, the wide receiver will be looking forward to a multi-year contract from teams.

 The Ravens and Packers look like the possible landing spots for Juju-smith in the coming free agency. But the WR has expressed his desire to return to the Chiefs after a Super Bowl-winning season with them. The Chiefs have plenty of cap space to do so and after limited options in the WR position, signing Juju-Smith makes sense. While the NFL world wishes his brother a speedy recovery, it will be an interesting period in the coming days for Juju-smith and his career in the NFL.
