The San Francisco 49ers took the NFL world by storm by trading up to the #3 spot in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. This was seen as a clear sign of intent by the franchise to draft a quarterback.

And to clear any remaining doubts, 49ers GM John Lynch even said that the team will indeed be drafting a QB with the pick. This, of course, left the future of Jimmy Garoppolo unclear.

The QB who was part of the team that made Super Bowl LIV is not unwanted though. While many reports earlier suggested that the New England Patriots were keen on reuniting with the QB, the 49ers said they would not be entertaining any offers.

So as things stand, the San Francisco 49ers will be having Garoppolo and promising, young rookie QB on their roster for the 2021 season.

How that might pan out, only time can tell. But Niners fullback Kyle Juszczyk recently poured in his thoughts about the situation.

During a segment of an episode of the Fantasy Footballers podcast, Juszczyk said that he will support whoever is under center in 2021.

“We’re just going to have to take it in stride, and I’m going to support whoever’s under center. Whether it’s Jimmy or a rookie quarterback. I think, either way, we’re going to be successful,” he said.

“As it stands now, Jimmy’s still on the roster… So, I anticipate that he’s most likely going to start the season off for us. Don’t know that’s necessarily the case or not,” he said.

Talking about how the 2-QB system might work out, Juszczyk drew parallels to the partnership between Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes back in his rookie year.

“Kind of what I’m envisioning, maybe like the Alex Smith to Patrick Mahomes transition. I could see that being feasible, but I don’t know.”
