Cincinnati Bengals quarterback recently showed his belief in his rival teammate Baker Mayfield. Baker Mayfield plays for Cleveland Browns as a quarterback. But now, his position is endangered with the acquisition of QB Deshaun Watson by the Browns. As the relationship between Mayfield and the Browns is about to end, the question arises of how well this season will be for Baker.

Joe Burrow, who is far away from any harm, spoke about Baker and the new Browns QB Deshaun Watson. Bengals and Browns are long-time rivals who play under the North AFC division. Joe Burrow, whose career has sky-rocketed with the Bengals, had come in support and said“Baker will land on his feet. He’s a really good player.”

Overlooking the whole scenario, Shannon Sharpe of the Undisputed show had a different perspective. He completely disagrees with the statement made by Joe. Shannon on the show with Skip Bayless said, “I would say one, but I’m not surprised I’m going slower than one I’m going zero. I’m not surprised at all. He’s a bust. Baker is not very good. He’s average and no team is lining up to pay 19 million. No, he’s an average quarterback.”

Shannon clearly has to say Baker is an average quarterback because no team is rooting for the player. He is not a priority anymore, and no team sees him as their plan A, plan B, or even Plan C.

Well, no matter what Shannon Sharpe thinks of Baker Mayfield. But, it is a fact that Baker stood among the top 25 quarterbacks in the 2021 season.

So, now that Watson is ready to play for the Browns, we can expect some unexpected twists and turns. Mayfield may or may not be part of the Browns in the near future. On the other hand, he needs to step up in his game and establish his value in order to secure a spot with a new franchise. The 27-year-old still has a lot of potentials; all we have to do now is wait and see how he develops as a player.
