The wide receiver for the Colorado Buffaloes Jimmy Horn was raised in San Francisco by his father. His parents, Jimmy Horn Sr. and Kendra Lewis got divorced when he was young. So, the wide receiver was solely raised by his father. During the game, the player had a roller coaster of emotions as his dad was in prison and he couldn’t take that off of his mind.

Sanders knew the whole situation Horn was in so being the amazing coach he is, he pulled him aside with a strong message for the player. The coach shared his comments after the game to reporters. He said that Horn was having a rough time, he knew he had to talk to him. So he went ahead and said to him, “He’s watching you right now. He wants to clap in front of all his different inmates because he believes in his son. We gonna make pops proud tonight. That’s what we gonna do, because his son is a DAWG.”

Horn and Horn Sr.’s father-son relationship

As the player was solely raised by his father, he always had a special place for his father in his heart even though his mother was available she had other kids too. In 2020 in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, the player’s father opened up about the kind of father he is. He said that he is a tough father who always wanted his kid to excel in what he does, so he had high expectations from his son.

Horn Sr. further added that it’s a good thing that his son is respectful and humble otherwise he would’ve cussed him by now.
