Tom Brady, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently signed a big deal with Fox Sports. Brady will join the organization as the lead NFL Analyst. The deal is worth $375 million and is for ten years. This deal will start when Brady officially retires from football.

With this deal, Brady has placed himself among the elites of the sports broadcasting world. Talking about bringing Brady to their organization, Fox Sports CEO Lachlan Murdoch said, “We are delighted that Tom has committed to joining the FOX team and wish him all the best during this upcoming season,” 

The question now arises as to where Tom Brady’s contract stands as compared to the contracts of broadcasting legends like Stephen A Smith, Skip Bayless, amongst others.

Brady’s deal comes about to $37.5 million per year for 10 years. In comparison, ESPN’s Stephen A Smith, who is one of the most famous sports broadcasters in the world, earns $8 million per year excluding bonuses. On the other hand, another person who is a part of Fox Sports like Brady is Skip Bayless. He reportedly earns around $5 million per year.

Fox’s deal with Tom Brady is the biggest deal ever in sports broadcasting

As seen above, even the best faces of the sports broadcasting world don’t have a deal anywhere near what Tom Brady has. Furthermore, we are going to compare his deal with the likes of Shaq, Charles Barkley, Colin Cowherd, and Rich Eisen. Notably, all these people have set a standard in the sports broadcasting world, which is why people love them.

Shaquille’O Neal the NBA legend, earns around $6 million per year with his deal with TNT. Another NBA legend who is a prominent sports broadcaster is Charles Barkley. He is also associated with TNT and earns around $1.5 million per year.

Colin Cowherd, who is also a part of FOX Sports, is a very experienced sports broadcaster. He earns $6 million per year from Fox and also earns through his show’s success. Rich Eisen, is another sports broadcaster who is quite reputed, and he works for the NFL Network. Rich earns an estimated amount of $5 million per year.

None of them have a deal as lucrative as Tom Brady, and Brady’s deal with Fox will certainly attract more athletes into the broadcasting space.
