On Saturday, a Podcast about the Indianapolis Colts tweet about what Peyton Manning said to the team’s management before the 1998 Draft. Perhaps this was what convinced them to draft him. No, it was his collegiate career. He threw 11,201 passing yards and 89 touchdowns at Tennessee.

It was with the Colts that Manning won his first Super Bowl championship and four of his MVP awards. He moved to the Denver Broncos after an injury cost him the 2011 season. Over the course of his professional career, Manning threw 71,940 passing yards and 539 touchdown passes. Manning is the son of former quarterback Archie Manning and the elder brother of Eli Manning who was also a quarterback.

Peyton recently made the news for his participation in ‘The Match II‘. He partnered up with golfing legend Tiger Woods and went up against Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson. The event was full of drama and rivalry for Brady and Manning. Together they managed to raise $20 million for COVID-19 relief.

Manning has been considering entering the NFL TV analyst business and plans start sometime in the future. “I said ‘no’ to this year. This doesn’t feel like the right time“, he said on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’. It is hoped that a network signs a futures contract with the former quarterback sometime soon. NBC has already signed Manning’s former counterpart, Drew Brees.

The ease in which Manning communicated on a big stage, playing golf with Woods against Phil Mickelson/Tom Brady and the rain pounding down, justified all who rave about his potential in a broadcast booth“, believes Bob Raissman of the Daily News.

Having been so deeply involved in football, it’s about time Peyton Manning is more connected to the sport than he presently is.
