Mark Ingram straight up made a shocking revelation. He revealed that if it weren’t for the Saints, he wouldn’t have left Houston. Ingram later expressed his gratitude to the Texans for their transparency. He also revealed his brief chat with Coach Culley, where he thanked his former coach.

“They said the Saints called, and they inquired about me and that they want me, and they said that if it was any other team, this wouldn’t even be a discussion,” Ingram said. “But out of respect for me and what I’ve done throughout my career and just how I started here, that they wanted to give me the option to make a decision and just let me sleep on it,” he added.

He then continued, “And I went in and I was told them, I was like ‘Coach Culley, Nick, I appreciate you guys for giving me a chance, giving me an opportunity to play ball and believing in me.’ And I don’t take that for granted… They gave me a chance, they believed in me.” he ended.

All said and done, very few expected Ingram’s return to the Saints. As Ingram revealed, the separation wasn’t easy at all. But what’s done is done as he is now a Saints player. In the last part of the interview, the running back revealed his plans to win the Championship with Saints.

“But to be able to have the opportunity to go back home where I started and be able to help them fight for a championship is almost something I couldn’t pass up,” Ingram revealed. The RB’s return to Saints gives them a much-needed boost. If he plays well, he will surely have a blockbuster as he plays the Bucs on his return.
