USC star Caleb Williams caused a stir after becoming the Hersman Trophy finalist. His accolades have kept the football world on notice. There is still time for the Trojans quarterback to enter the NFL draft. However, he is widely regarded as the next big thing. A prominent quarterback coach hailed the young star as the next Patrick Mahomes, and the quarterback agreed.

The USC Trojans quarterback recently received praise from coach Tom House. He praised Caleb Williams in the Adam Schefter podcast, calling him the second-coming Patrick Mahomes. When CBS Sports Radio’s Zach Gelb asked the 20-year-old about coach House’s comments, he responded positively.

Caleb Williams mentioned, “It’s pretty cool, I’d say, just because everybody watches Patrick [Mahomes] and sees all the cool things he can do. I always said, even in high school, and obviously he’s special, but I don’t think there’s anything I can’t do that he’s doing out there. I think it’s really cool, like I said. I’ve had comparisons to a bunch of other people, and since I have, Patrick is pretty cool.”

As per SI, the sophomore-level quarterback is emerging as an upcoming asset. This season, he threw for 4,075 yards and an FBS-leading 37 touchdowns with four interceptions. Patrick Mahomes is an undisputed star from Texas Tech, and Williams may have a long way to go. But he could make it happen.

Patrick Mahomes had an epic response after watching the Raiders’ shattering loss. He expressed his emotions through giggling emojis. However, his response was a controversial one that could have sparked a new debate. But the Chiefs QB1 was quick to delete the tweet to avoid dispute.
