LA Rams’ DT Aaron Donald will miss Sunday’s game against Seahawks
The Super Bowl-winning head coach, McVay, talked to the media about Donald’s incredible run as a Rams player. Notably, Donald will miss a game for the first time in his illustrious NFL career solely due to injury. So far, he has played 86 back-to-back games for the Rams. Before that, he only missed 2 games in his NFL career since joining the league in 2014.
Speaking about Donald’s incredible grit, strength, and determination, McVay said, “That’s what makes Aaron, Aaron… He’s unbelievable. To be able to play through that, the toughness, everything that he embodies is what you love.”

In last week’s game against the Chiefs, Donald suffered an ankle injury during the first quarter. However, did not come off and continued playing. It seems like he aggravated his ankle injury further by playing through the injury. As per reports, he will not go through surgery.
The 285 lb defensive tackle has been extraordinary this season for the Rams, despite their offensive struggles. Notably, he has 5 sacks in 11 games this year, the lowest in his career so far. Despite that, he has been pivotal for the Rams, not only this season but also in the last season as well. Many believed that Donald should have won the Super Bowl MVP last season ahead of Cooper Kupp.

“So much of it is built around him… He is truly one of one. You don’t replace anybody like him. Guys will be asked to step up, (and we) have confidence in those guys, but I think Aaron’s resume speaks for itself… it’s a huge loss,” McVay further said about the importance of Donald on the team.

Apart from Donald, the Rams also have other injury concerns as well. Two wide receivers, Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson will both miss Sunday’s game due to injuries as well. Also, the QB Matthew Stafford missed the last game due to concussion protocol and will probably sit out on Sunday’s game as well. It will be interesting to see if HC McVay shuts down some of the main players for the rest of the season, as the season is pretty much over for the last season’s Super Bowl champions.
