For the Kansas City Chiefs and star QB Patrick Mahomes, the 2021 NFL season could be all about redemption. Their near-perfect campaign was marred by a nightmare showing in the game that mattered the most.

Being trounced by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-9 in Super Bowl LV, the otherwise dominant Chiefs left with heads hanging low. But looking to put their past behind, the franchise is gearing up for what could possibly be a season with another trip to the Super Bowl.

While the trio of Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and Patrick Mahomes is expected to once again lead the team’s offense, wide receiver Mecole Hardman too wants to make an impression.

With the departure of Sammy Watkins over the offseason, Patrick Mahomes will need someone else to step up and be his WR2. And who better than 2019 second-round pick Mecole Hardman.

The wide receiver managed four touchdowns last season alongside 560 receiving yards. This placed him firmly as the side’s WR3. But now Hardman knows just how important the upcoming season will be to cement his place in the Chiefs’ plans.

The Chiefs offense faltered against the Bucs when it mattered the most. While Mahomes was still putting up a valiant effort the rest of the offense just didn’t click.
