Patrick Mahomes is arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now. He has already won many laurels in his pretty brief career so far. He is also expected to end up as an all-time great player.

When Mahomes signed his record-breaking 10-year, $450 million contract with the Chiefs, many people criticized the team’s decision. Fast forward to present times, and this deal is being seen as one of the best in the league.

More and more quarterbacks are being offered new contracts. Those new deals are resulting in quarterbacks earning more than Mahomes on an annual basis. As a result, it is fair to say that the Kansas City Chiefs did well with the Mahomes contract.

Patrick Mahomes isn’t bothered by other quarterbacks earning more than him. He believes he is settled for life with his contract. Talking about it, Mahomes said, “When I signed my deal, I knew I was going to be pretty set for life, regardless of what the market kind of happens.”

He added, “But you just keep playing. Money is one thing, but when you get those Super Bowl rings, at the end of your career, I think that’s going to be what you look back upon. I think I’ve made enough money from the football field and obviously off of it as well, that it won’t matter at the end of the day.”

Mahomes is an icon in America. He can secure numerous deals off the field. They will help him stay wealthy for a very long time. Due to it, he isn’t bothered by what other QBs earn.

With Kyler Murray just signing a huge deal, Mahomes firmly believes more quarterbacks are about to get paid big money pretty soon. He signaled the possible extensions of Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert.

Talking about upcoming quarterback deals, Mahomes said, “The next guy is the top-paid guy.” Quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, Burrow, and Herbert are on the cusp of getting huge contracts from their franchises. It will be interesting to see if any teams give a quarterback a long-term deal as the Chiefs did with Mahomes.
