Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The former Super Bowl winner proved this year that he can still lead a team to the promised land.

With Wilson at the helm, the Seattle Seahawks maintained a 12-4 record in the NFC, the second-best in the conference. The credit for their success should ideally go to Wilson’s connection with Tyler Lockett.

Russell Wilson recently gave an interview where he spoke about their relationship. Wilson believes that there is a magical connection between himself and Tyler Lockett, and that helps the team play well. He gave the reasons for the success of their great chemistry together, and they were two-fold.

He said, “I think what makes it magical is one – Tyler is so knowledgeable of the game. I  think that is the biggest thing. The second thing is that – I would say this is the first thing – it’s just god.

“You can throw to a guy all day and practice, and sometimes it doesn’t work for some reason, I don’t know what it is.”

Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett have an unspoken connection

Wilson added that the connection has been a significant part of his time with the Seattle Seahawks. Over the years, Wilson and Lockett have built up a great chemistry between themselves and have helped the Seahawks achieve great success.

Wilson was not able to put into words why the connection between the two has been so successful. “But the magic Tyler and I have, I can’t explain it.

“It’s been really, really special over the years. And somehow he just catches it every time. Even the ball that you caught the first touchdown Tyler, the other night. That was a tight window.”

He continued, “And you even fixed your glove. You’re running and scrambling with me, I’m over there trying to dodge and throw this guy off my shoulder.

“And I’m spinning out and running and trying to figure out where guys are everywhere and everything just happens so fast. And I see Tyler adjust his glove on the fly. So I ended up firing it to Tyler, and he catches it.”

Wilson and Lockett’s connection has been one for the highlight reels as they helped the Seahawks reach the Playoffs. Now, the two must help the team overcome the Los Angeles Rams in the Playoffs. Wilson would love to lead the team back to the Super Bowl, as the team hasn’t won the trophy since 2014.
