It was a betrayal for many who believed the 44-year-old, who advocated his longevity all year long, would stay till his 50s. The news was first broken by the ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, who reported, “Tom Brady is retiring from football after 22 extraordinary seasons, multiple sources tell @JeffDarlington and me. Elite athletes like Patrick Mahomes and Julian Edelman also tuned in to bid the GOAT goodbye. However, a few moments later, it was revealed that Tom Brady is not even close to calling a retirement. With that news, the whole internet regained its calm. However, a new trend set foot in which the netizens started to troll Adam Schefter to break the news inaccurately. Later Adam Schefter took to Twitter to cut down the rumors and shared a note from Tom Brady’s agent Don Yee denying the veracity of the matter.
