During a segment of the Dan Patrick Show, the Clemson quarterback talked about just how important the Heisman Trophy is to him going forward.

“The Heisman trophy is obviously something that would be awesome to win. And I’m not going to say that it wouldn’t be. I’d love to win it, that’d be great. But honestly, this is the truth, I just don’t really focus on it too much,” said Trevor Lawrence.

“Things Can’t Go Back to Normal” – Trevor Lawrence Reflects on His Rise to Stardom

Lawrence said that given the unpredictable nature of the season due to COVID-19, it is difficult to gauge athletes like it has been done before in the past.

“There’s a lot of factors that go into it. And especially a season like this, where everyone’s played different games and schedules have been kind of rearranged,” he said.

“With all those things, it’s just a tough thing to gauge. So I don’t put too much at stake in it. You know, I know who I am, confident in who I am, regardless of whether I win it or not.

“But obviously, I’ll have to say that it would be a huge accomplishment to be considered for to win it,” he added.

Throughout the course of the NFL season, New York Jets fans have been cherishing their losses for one sole reason. Tank for Trevor.

Lawrence, who is eligible to declare for the draft in 2021, would undoubtedly be the first overall pick if he decides to swap college ball for the NFL.

Instead, that honor passes on to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Regardless of results in the final week of the regular season, the #1 pick will be off to Jacksonville. Unless they trade their first overall pick, the likelihood of which is near non-existent.
