Patrick Mahomes is not just a good athlete, but a phenomenal example for young QBs. At the age of 27, he has already achieved more than most quarterbacks can dream of in their entire careers. Patrick has won Super Bowls, Super Bowl MVPs, and NFL MVPs, and set numerous records along the way. He has also signed the richest contract in sports history, worth up to $503 million over 10 years. But, how did he get here?

The young QB is often compared to two of the greatest of all time: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. However, these players have dominated the NFL in different ways, and each one has a strong case for being the best quarterback ever. But the most intriguing is who has the edge in terms of championships, awards, and honors.

The 27-year-old quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes is on the verge of becoming a legend in the NFL. That’s according to a report shared by KC Sports Network on Twitter, which compared Mahomes’ record with some of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. The report focused on the number of conference championship games hosted by these quarterbacks in their careers. This is a measure of how often they led their teams to the final stage before the Super Bowl.

The report revealed that Mahomes has already hosted five games, surpassing other esteemed quarterbacks such as 49ers 67 YO Joe Montana known as “Joe Cool”, 47 YO Peyton Manning called “the Sheriff”, and 74 YO Steelers icon Terry Bradshaw. The only quarterback who has hosted more games than Mahomes is Legend Tom Brady, who hosted seven games in his illustrious career.

This shows how impressive Mahomes’ achievements are at such a young age and how he is emerging as one of the most dominant quarterbacks in the league, challenging the legacy left by Tom Brady.

Patrick Mahomes is slowly catching up

When it comes to playoff performance, Brady stands out as the most accomplished quarterback among the three. He has played in 48 playoff games, winning 35 of them and earning seven Super Bowl rings. Manning and Mahomes are far behind him in these categories, with 27 and 10 playoff games, 14 and eight playoff wins, and two and one Super Bowl rings, respectively.

However, Mahomes has been more efficient and productive in the postseason than Brady and Manning. He has the highest completion percentage (67.9%) of any quarterback in playoff history, as well as the highest yards per game (338.1) and passer rating (105.7). Manning and Brady rank lower in these stats, with 63.2% and 62.5% completion percentages, 290.5 and 271.9 yards per game, and 87.4 and 90.4 passer ratings, respectively.

These statistics suggest that Mahomes is better than Brady and Manning in some aspects of the game, but he still has a lot to prove to match their longevity, consistency, and achievements. It is also not fair to compare different eras of football, as the game has changed over time in terms of rules, strategies, and opponents.
