The Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver, A.J. Brown, has been displaying an impressive performance in almost all of his games. The Eagles won against the tactical Miami Dolphins with a 31-17 score. Brown had a big hand behind this victory, as he racked up receiving yards in the game. Although he started this season a bit slowly after playing seven games in total this season, he’s managed to tie up to one of the longest streaks in the NFL.

On Sunday, Brown had a big performance night and has managed to stand at par with the record of Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, with five matches of more than 125 receiving yards. With such a splendid performance last night, Brown has managed to garner respect across the league. But there are still bigger challenges set up for him.

The Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles had a similar performance ongoing with each other, as they both sat on the leaderboard with a 5-1 record. However, the Eagles changed their single loss to a double on Sunday, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that half of the credit goes to A.J. Brown. He ended the Sunday night with a total of 137 passing yards.

This set a tone for his form and even placed him beside the legendary WR Calvin Johnson. He’s the one who holds the record of five matches with more than 125 yards of receiving, and now it is shared by Brown. So, one more game like this one, and Brown would have broken the difficult 1970 record of Johnson. He’s established his position as one of the best wide receivers on the field.

He’s able to shine because of his stint with quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver DeVonta Smith. The Eagles have given Brown the space to uplift his performance, as he completed 809 yards in total in just seven games. They would need it more in the upcoming matches against teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and many more. It’s going to be interesting, as back in 2021, he was able to give a record-breaking performance against the Niners, so can history repeat itself?

Brown broke even more records than that of Calvin Johnson

After the previous game against the New York Jets, Brown still had more than 125 receiving yards, even though his team lost that night. With this feat, he became the tenth NFL player to have four games with over 125 yards, and he’s the first after Odell Beckham Jr in 2014. There has not been a WR in the Eagles’ history who’s had more than two consecutive games with 125-plus yards.

So, Brown has definitely set a standard this season. Last game, he had already broken the record of most receiving yards in the four-game span which was earlier held by Andrew Hawkins back in 1967. Even in this game, he broke the five-game span record with the most receiving yards. This record was held earlier by Brian Quick, who set it back in 1983.
