After losing 20-34 to Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers has made their records even going into the league further. In this season, the star running back Aaron Jones has only played two games in four weeks. He came for his team in the game against the Lions, after he sprained his left hamstring in the Week 1 game. Although the Packers are in dire straits right now, they still have a chance to make it 3-2 against the Las Vegas Raiders on October 10.

However, recently Packers RB reminisced about the historic 2021 game against the Detroit Lions when he guided his team through the victory. It’s been two years since that game, but the game still remains close to him, as he had lost his father due to COVID-19 that year. Moreover, recently, Jones has revealed something wholesome that happened during that game.

This was one of the biggest games of Aaron Jones’s career, as he scored 4 touchdowns for his team. Before this, he had a similar stat back in 2019 against the Dallas Cowboys. Well, the 2021 Lions game was a big moment, since he had lost his father in April and had him in his kind throughout the game.

After his father’s demise, he even sewed a pocket in his jersey to keep him close to his heart. Moreover, during one of the touchdowns, he seemed to have lost his necklace, which had a football pendant. Inside that pendant, he kept his father’s ashes. So, he speculated that he must’ve dropped during one of the touchdowns. Now in a small snippet from A Football Life Origins movie, Jones talked about this incident.

He said, “I think it was probably my second touchdown. I scored, I went to go pull it out.” After that, a lot of players came to pump him up. Then he instantly realized something and told them, “I’m like, hey, I lost my dad’s ashes like in the end zone somewhere. Our trainer, Flea, he’s amazing. He’s like, ‘You lost your dad in the right place.’” This touched the hearts of a lot of fans. Back in 2021, he tried to look for the necklace but couldn’t find it.

Jones doesn’t regret losing the necklace

After the splendid 35-17 victory against the Lions, Jones realized he didn’t have his precious necklace anymore in his neck. After the game, many officials tried to look for it on the field, and even Jones accompanied them. But nobody could find it, but he still doesn’t feel bad about not finding it.

He said, “I’ll go look for it. But I know he’s happy. He’d be happy, and say, ‘If you lose it anywhere, lose it in the end zone.’” So, it was a special place where he unintentionally dedicated one of his touchdowns to his late father. Some things are destined to happen, and this was a wholesome trick that nature played on the star running back.
