It’s been a while since the San Francisco 49ers took over the Dallas Cowboys in what was the most offense-driven play that the 49ers have played till now. But for some reason, Kyle Shanahan is not having it. He has his own reasons to be frustrated, and he lets it be known in a recent podcast. Safe to say, the game didn’t go as Shanahan expected it to go and he has a lot to say about it.

Another thing to take note of is how the 49ers have come so far, without a single defeat, averaging at least 30 points per game. Now that it is something to look out for. However, in the game against the Cowboys, the 49ers couldn’t get to that 30-point mark in an expected ETA.

Kyle Shanahan can do better

The conversation started with a simple question, ‘How in the world you guys could get a false start in the first play in the second half’ to which Shanahan replied, ‘I do not know, it was very frustrating,’ Shanahan’s reason behind this frustration comes from the fact that they got a false start on the exact same play twice in the first half. What’s more, is that he ran the play again with another group of personnel in the second half. But it wasn’t till the 1 and 15 play that Shanahan’s team made a false start again and the play finally worked out.

So, his frustration mainly stems from the fact that it took the 49ers four tries to make a play that they could’ve succeeded in within the first leg of the game. Considering the quality of their opponents, the Cowboys, this was the most fulfilling and impressive performance that the 49ers have had since week 1. But Shanahan’s team managed to do something in the 4 quarter that they couldn’t in the 1 one.

A ghost from the past

This reminded the host of the NFC championship playoff game against the Green Bay Packers when the 49ers ran the ball both offensively and defensively with poise. Per the host, the 49ers should have been standing at 35 points by the end of the first half. But in reality, the 49ers stood at 21-7 with a 14-point lead. This is exactly what Kyle Shanahan was in qualm with, he felt like the team missed on a couple of opportunities to get more touchdowns. For him, the score should have been 35-7.

“You don’t know when you’ve missed your opportunity, so it was cool to come in and the players all felt the same at halftime and they came out and they went out and got a field goal’ said Shanahan addressing the point before the 49ers got to 21-7.

Per Shanahan, the game was over quickly, but the 49ers knew it as soon as they stepped into the 4 quarter. Regardless of what could have happened, the 49ers came out as winners and a lot to look forward to. Especially when their QB1 is on his way to stardom, as there is some chatter about Brock Purdy getting inducted as an MVP. The 49ers have a lot to look forward to as they go against the Cleveland Browns in their next game.
