The Miami Dolphins narrowly missed out on making the Playoffs in the 2020 NFL season. With a mix of rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Dolphins finished the season with a 10-6 record.

Thanks to their showing, they finished above the likes of the New England Patriots and the New York Jets in the AFC East division. Under Head Coach Brian Flores, the Dolphins look like genuine playoff contenders.

But even with a capable dual-quarterback system in place, it looks like the Dolphins are still looking to make adjustments. The Dolphins have been in dire need of a quarterback for far too long.

And while many feel that Tua is the answer going forward, the Dolphins have been exploring other options as well. With Houston Texans‘ Deshaun Watson looking for a trade, the Dolphins are one of the franchises interested in making a move for him.

Miami Dolphins on the market for Deshaun Watson

According to a report by the Miami Herald, the Dolphins, “expect to be in the mix to acquire Watson if the Texans make him available (which they have not, to this point).”

Despite Deshaun Watson’s intentions to move on, the Texans franchise look determined to retain their star QB. The Texans have had a rough 2020. Starting from the questionable trade of DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals, to Head Coach and GM Bill O’Brien being sacked in the opening weeks of the 2020 season, the Texans have endured a season to forget.

The franchise, which is now looking forward to a massive rejig after a 4-12 season, is clearly not the environment that Deshaun Watson wants to be a part of.

Despite being as dysfunctional as the franchise was through the course of the season, Watson put up stellar numbers to be credited as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Now entering his prime, Watson is looking to make a move to a team where he can chase Super Bowl rings. Where Watson ultimately ends up, only time will tell, but as things stand, Tua Tagovailoa remains the Dolphins QB for the foreseeable future.
