Nick Kyrgios Calls Out Roger Federer For Shutting Down The Reporter

On Friday, Roger Federer snapped the question put forward by a reporter which stated whether he was unhappy with the umpire’s decision of point penalty. Later, the Australian tennis player, Nick Kyrgios criticized the reporter’s question by stating that they are trying to find negatives in everything and hailed Roger Federer’s response to it.

“Yessir the king has spoken, always trying to find the negatives, the bigger the story the bigger the paycheck, Roger you are an absolute legend hahaha,” Nick Kyrgios tweeted.

During the Shanghai Rolex Masters 2019 quarterfinals, World Number three, Federer was given a code violation warning in the second set as he hit a ball into the audience out of rage. Later in the third set, the Swiss was trailing by 3-0 and was given a point penalty for hitting the ball again into the crowd upon losing a point.

“The penalty point was just something that happened today, it wasn‘t something that changed the outcome, I was behind in the result but won the game anyway, Zverev put me away today, not the umpire,” Federer said in the post-match press conference after losing to Alexander Zverev.

World Number 28, Nick Kyrgios withdrew from the Asian swing after losing his first match in Zhuhai, China. He is tackling with a shoulder/collar bone injury and that aggravated after his first-round defeat at Zhuhai Championships 2019.

Right after his withdrawal from the Asian tournaments, ATP punished Kyrgios with deferred suspension penalty and Kyrgios received probation for six months on the ATP Tour. His indiscipline on the professional tennis courts and calling ATP ‘corrupt’ were termed as an “Aggravated Behavior” under the Player Major Offense provision in the ATP Code.
