Nickmercs Reveals He Never Planned On Being A Streamer

Nickmercs is definitely one of the biggest names when it comes to streaming/competitive gaming. Known for his aggressive style, he is one of the most-watched Twitch streamers today. But, in a recent interview with ‘Pardon My Take’, Nick revealed that it was never his plan to become a streamer/gamer.
Nick started his journey in gaming much like any other gamer where he just wanted to play with his squad and dominate the game. In the interview, he mentions that he was only playing for fun and was attending small tournaments just because loved gaming.
Nick made a name for himself in the gaming world when he first started playing competitive ‘Gears Of War’ and ‘Halo.’ He and his squad used to dominate the game. As a matter of fact, he also came face to face with Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins at a tournament and there was a lot of trash-talking among them.

Nickmercs early gaming days
But he actually came into the spotlight when Fortnite was launched. Console players were always considered to be at a disadvantage vs a mouse and keyboard. But Nick did not let that stop him in any way. He made a name for himself by constantly dropping in ‘Tilted Towers’, the most aggressive spot in Fortnite. He also held the world record of 54 kills in a single game at one point. This is where things changed for him and he cemented his place in the content creator space. He also joined Nadeshot’s organization, 100 Thieves, in 2016.
In the interview, he also reveals how difficult it was to convince his father that gaming is ‘legit’. His father was a huge sports fan, played college sports but had no idea about esports and competitive gaming. So growing up, there were constant fights between them where his father would tell him to go outside and ‘get dirty’. But today, his father is his biggest support.

Nickmerc’s story is an example of what doing something passionately does for you. He never planned to do this for the rest of his life and just focused on what he knew best. Today, he is one of the biggest names in the gaming world. He also has partnered with Activision for his own Call of Duty Warzone Tournament which features other gamers from the industry and celebrities, too.
