Nintendo Switch Is Reportedly Getting Popular Xbox and PlayStation Feature Soon

Last month, the Nintendo Switch received a firmware update in Update 13.0, which introduced some new features. This included the arrival of Bluetooth audio support, along with some Quality of Life improvements. However, it also contains some hidden secrets, which might involve a popular feature that Xbox and PlayStation users have had for years.

Players on the green and blue side of the console wars have been able to earn digital rewards by finishing off achievements in video games. But, Nintendo consoles have never had a proper feature like that. However, new rumors suggest that players on the red side might not have to wait a long time.

Datamined information suggest new achievements feature for the Nintendo Switch

Recently, dataminers have found new information regarding an upcoming feature following 13.1 update’s release. The scalpers have found out that the developers might finally allow players to complete achievements to earn digital rewards. Many suggest that this might involve the long awaited integration of My Nintendo in the Switch.

Mobile fans of Nintendo titles might know a bit about My Nintendo and its missions. With My Nintendo, players can earn rewards by completing tasks in mobile titles like Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Mario Run. The rewards include both Platinum and Gold coins. With these coins, they can redeem exclusive games, discounts, in-app items and many more.

What to expect from this feature?

As of now, fans don’t have much of an idea about this possible feature for the Nintendo Switch. According to dataminers, it seems like the update has files regarding future support for My Nintendo mission/ Nintendo Switch Online events. Popular leaker Samus Hunter even mentioned that it’s more likely for this feature to be a the Switch integration for My Nintendo.

Samus Hunter further stated that it will first provide support with the new releases for the console like Splatoon 3. Other than that, Animal Crossing: New Horizons might also be a game that will have a list of missions for players to earn rewards with from the start.

In the end, it remains to be seen what will arrive from this rumor. While a lot of information isn’t available about this feature, fans have a lot of hope that this will finally incentivize them to pick up their console and play more to earn points and then redeem them for rewards.
