World No.1 Novak Djokovic could be at the danger of contracting the Coronavirus after Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Coric, who were with the Serbian in Zadar, Croatia, have been tested positive with the virus.

Dimitrov from the start of the Adria Tour was with Djokovic. He attended the first leg in Serbia where they played exhibition matches and even basketball. And so in the second leg in Croatia before the start, he called in sick and flew back to Monaco and got tested there.

Borna Coric joined Djokovic in the second leg and played against him on Saturday, as Dimitrov’s news broke out he got himself tested and it turned out positive.

“I want to inform you that I am positive for Covid-19, please everyone who has been in contact with me for the last few days gets tested,” said the Croatian.

As the Adria Tour is being organized by the Novak Djokovic Foundation, it includes Goran Ivanisevic, Djokovic’s coach as the tournament director, he released his comment regarding the situation.

“None of the people involved in the organization and who have been in contact with Grigor have symptoms. Despite this, we did not want to put anyone in any danger and the final match was canceled,” he added.

Djokovic has been criticized for organizing the tour. Without many precautions and rules, the Adria Tour always had the risk of contracting the virus. Players and the organizers were moving from place to place attracting huge crowds without much protection.

With testing still going on, the Adria Tour might become a hotspot for the virus. Novak Djokovic’s test result hasn’t been out yet. So Let’s hope everyone is tested cautiously and we have less positive cases.
