In the video by the ATP, Roger Federer complimented Novak Djokovic for managing to reach the top of tennis and actually staying at the top of tennis. He said,

“Once at the top, it’s never easy to find a way to stay there. You have to keep on winning and that is what he has been doing. And not just once in a while, he has been doing it over and over.”

Roger has said a lot of things here that are true. Ever since Novak reached the top of tennis he has not let go of that position. He has just set record after record and will continue to do so in the future. Right now, his eyes are set on a record that will not make Roger happy and it is – the record for the most Grand Slam titles.

This record is the one that will decide who goes down as the GOAT of tennis. And that is why this record is very important to Novak. He currently has 17 which is 3 short of Roger’s 20 and if he continues the way he has been playing, he will beat the record in no time.

He is probably waiting for the next opportunity to get closer to beating this record. Unfortunately for him, that opportunity is only going to come after a while as the ATP Tour has been suspended. It is scheduled to return in August assuming the virus is contained by then.

With many countries working on a vaccine, it should be. And then we can see Novak Djokovic compete for some Grand Slam titles and get close to becoming the GOAT of tennis.
