Jesse Lingard hasn’t had the most pleasant last two years in football. And while his team, Manchester United, did succeed in beating their arch-rivals Manchester City, the Englishman had another poor match.
The midfielder has only had eight goal contributions in the last two seasons for club and country. These included six goals and two assists. In fact, he broke his long drought in the FA Cup fixture against League One side, Tranmere Rovers.

It Goes From Bad to Worst for Jesse Lingard

Ole Gunnar Solskjær, otherwise a calm man was seen shouting at Lingard during the match. He was reportedly telling his player to stop losing the ball or he would substitute him off.

Minutes later, Jesse Lingard did lose the ball again while trying to pass to Fred. His error resulted in a counter-attack from Manchester City with Raheem Sterling leading the attacking. Though the out-of-form English forward missed his mark and fired over the bar.
