Back when WWE superstars like John Cena, Randy Orton, and Roman Reigns were running wild, there was one man they all feared, Brock Lesnar. His “Suplex City” didn’t just break opponents, it broke their will. Even Cena, the face of “Never Give Up,” had to bow. But while the Beast Incarnate has been absent from WWE since SummerSlam 2023, the Lesnar legacy is very much alive. Only now, it’s not roaring through a wrestling ring, it’s flying through the air inside track and field, a shot put circle. It is through his daughter, Mya Lynn Lesnar, who is on the brink of becoming an NCAA champion, just one throw away from sporting greatness.

Born on April 10, 2002, Mya Lesnar isn’t throwing punches, she’s throwing bombs. After switching from Arizona State to Colorado State, she’s become a shot put powerhouse. With the NCAA Outdoor Championships looming, Mya leads the field with a season-best throw of 64-3.75 (19.58 m), a full two feet ahead of her closest challenger, Illinois’ Abria Smith.

With Nebraska’s reigning indoor champion, Axelina Johansson, redshirting this year, the title race is wide open, and Mya is the clear favorite. Other contenders like Ole Miss’ Akaoma Odeluga and Florida’s Gracelyn Leiseth are in the mix, but no one’s matching the dominance of Lesnar right now.

Her journey to this moment has been nothing short of powerful. In 2024, she made school history by winning the NCAA Indoor Shot Put title, becoming Colorado State’s first-ever women’s indoor national champion with a throw of 18.53 m in Boston. That toss earned her First-Team All-American honors and a permanent place in CSU’s record books.

She didn’t stop there—Mya has been a force in the Mountain West Conference, winning the indoor shot put title for three straight years through 2025, including a 19.02 m bomb in Albuquerque. Outdoors, she claimed her fourth consecutive title in May 2025 with an 18.61 m personal best, and even added a hammer throw championship in 2024 with a mark of 62.00 m.

Her stats are stacked, her growth is unstoppable, and her name is now synonymous with power. Mya has broken school and facility records multiple times—first in December 2023 with an 18.50 m indoor throw, then in early 2024 with 19.07 m, and finally, a jaw-dropping 19.60 m in May 2025. She’s not just following in her father’s footsteps, she’s sprinting past expectations and redefining what it means to be a Lesnar. As she steps into the NCAA Outdoor Championships, one thing is clear: the ring may have raised Brock, but the circle belongs to Mya. But nothing would have been possible without the supportive father, Brock Lesnar.

Not just the beast, Brock Lesnar became the ultimate girl dad

Brock Lesnar has been more than a WWE icon or UFC powerhouse, he’s been a devoted, present father to Mya Lesnar since the day she was born in 2002. He once called that moment life-changing, saying: “No matter what I do for the rest of my life, I’ll always be Mya Lynn Lesnar’s father first and foremost. I love Mya very much… I have been a blessed man because of her.” From early on, Brock helped raise her away from the spotlight, giving her the space to grow on her own terms.

Even when she transferred to Colorado State University and focused on shot put, he remained close often spotted supporting her quietly at practice sessions in late 2024. Brock wasn’t just present; he was right there when Mya began rewriting record books. When she shattered the Colorado State women’s shot-put record with an 18.50m throw at the Mines Alumni Classic in December 2023, Brock hugged her in a moment that went viral. And when she won the NCAA Indoor Shot Put title in March 2024 with an 18.53m throw, fans once again spotted him rushing to hug her.

But Brock Lesnar’s biggest gift to Mya may be his advice off the field. After that NCAA title win, Mya shared what he told her: “Take it all in, enjoy it, and then put it away and we move on… The biggest thing he taught me was do not let your trophies or anything you’ve done change you as a person… be successful but also to not have an ego.” In June 2024, she reflected on his impact again, saying: “It’s really not about my dad… Him just being in my corner and now me being in the spotlight… I think that’s super cool.”

Whether it was at the Mountain West Outdoor Championship in May 2024—where she swept both shot put and hammer throw or when she broke the CSU record again in May 2025 (19.60m), Mya said it best: “I was very emotional… because all my family got to be here.” Through every triumph, Brock Lesnar hasn’t just watched, he’s stood beside her, quietly fueling one of track and field’s rising stars.
