“The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan is eager to take on former ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex.

As of now, the Evolve MMA standout is fully committed to defending her ONE Women’s Strawweight World Title against Japanese competitor Ayaka “Zombie” Miura at ONE: HEAVY HITTERS this Friday, 14 January. But once she finishes that challenge, Xiong is willing to go down a division to challenge the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Champion.

“I’m looking forward to fighting with Angela Lee. And of course, I want to fight Stamp too. I want to fight Stamp Fairtex. She’s so amazing. She got the big prize in the Grand Prix,” the Singaporean-based athlete said during the official ONE: HEAVY HITTERS pre-fight face-off interview.

“Maybe in the future, I will go down to atomweight, and I believe it’s going to be in the near future, not the far future.”

In 2019, Xiong and “Unstoppable” Angela Lee engaged in two memorable encounters at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan. After splitting those fights, a third contest between the pair must happen to settle the score.

“The Panda” also offered her thoughts on why their rematch should ideally take place at atomweight.

“I want that chance to fight Ms. Angela. It’s just a matter of time, you know because I’ve been thinking about that fight, you know? For a very long time, as long as like the whole two years, I’ve been staying in strawweight. I almost cleared out the whole division.”

While a trilogy bout against the Singaporean-American martial artist is within her radar, a clash against the Fairtex representative will be a far more intriguing affair for the Chinese warrior, who just turned 34 on 12 January.

ONE: ONLY THE BRAVE – Full Card Confirmed for 28 January

The Thai striker owns a ferocious right hand and often relies on her knees and elbows from close range. Still, Xiong’s preference to strike from a distance using her boxing combinations could spell danger for Stamp–who will have a showdown against Lee for the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title at ONE X on Saturday, 26 March.
