The present Bayern Munich boss, Pep Guardiola believes that the new Manchester United player, Bastian Schweinsteiger’s fitness is under serious doubt.
The former Barcelona manager said that the German national hasn’t ever been completely fit in the past 3 years and will only be successful if the club manages to help him move past his injury issues. The 31-year-old joined Manchester United this transfer window for £15 million, having played for primarily for Bayern Munich in his previous years.
He was regularly bedeviled by leg and foot based injuries, including ankle and knee, which led him to play fewer matches over the past 3 years. Pep said:
“When he does not have injury problems, I am completely convinced he will do very well at Manchester United. He is a top, top player.”
“Unfortunately, during the last three years he was never in good condition. He is going to play really good there (at United). I really hope that is going to happen.”
Talking about Pedro, the Spaniard was all praises for the lad. Pedro had been playing under Pep Guardiola during his time at Barca, and he believes that the player will be an excellent addition to the team, claiming “He is one of the best players you can imagine.“
He also said:
He’s won the European Cup, the Champions League and played millions of games for Barcelona. He can play in any team in the world, but I don’t know the situation right now. He’s a great player.”
