Is Tiger Woods Related to Professional Golfer Cheyenne Woods?

Professional golfer Cheyenne Woods was recently a part of the commentary team working on ‘The Match 4,’ 2021. And a surname like Woods is synonymous with the game of golf, and people began speculating whether Cheyenne is related to golf legend Tiger Woods. Yes, they are related, in fact.

Cheyenne Woods is the niece of Tiger Woods and has had a decent golf career so far. In May, she qualified for the women’s U.S. Open after claiming a five-shot victory in New Jersey. The world no. 473 shot 73 and 69 in the 36-hole qualifier. But unfortunately, in the tournament in June, she missed the cut. This was her fifth appearance overall and first since 2018.

Who is Cheyenne Woods, the niece of Tiger Woods?

Cheyenne Woods was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on 25 July 1990. She is the daughter of Earl Dennison Woods Jr. and Susan Woods. Earl Woods Jr is Tiger Woods’ half-brother, making Cheyenne Woods Tiger’s half-niece. Her paternal grandfather, Earl Woods (Tiger Woods‘ father), was her first coach and inspiration in golf.  

Previously, Cheyenne played golf for Xavier College Preparatory, which is an all-famous private Catholic high school. But after that, she joined Wake Forest University in 2012. Moreover, she won more than 30 amateur tournaments before turning pro in 2012. Woods entered the final round placed T19 in her first professional tournament but finished 54th in the end. And later that year, she won her first-ever event while competing in the SunCoast Ladies Series, a Florida mini-tour event. 

And in 2013, Cheyenne Woods joined the Ladies European Tour and was one of the top LET rookies that year. She finished 78th on the money list, with five top 25 finishes in 11 starts. Since then, Cheyenne has played in every major tournament. But unfortunately, she has not been able to win another championship. Her best achievement in majors is a T-43 finish in the Women’s PGA Championship and Evian Championship in 2016.

So, Cheyenne Woods is an accomplished golfer in her own right, although she has not yet achieved victory on the highest tour in women’s golf. Moreover, Cheyenne Woods is currently dating Major League Baseball player Aaron Hicks.
