The immaculate Augusta National layout is not an easy one to master, but Johnson effortlessly reigned supreme in 2020. The 72-par, 7,768-yard course makes even the best players tremble, but the golfers are just eager to get out and compete at the grandest stage of them all.
Will the 2021 Masters have fans?
Unlike last year, the 2021 Masters will invite a limited number of patrons to enjoy the tournament. However, there will be several restrictions in place to ensure the safety of the players as well as the patrons.
“While we are disappointed that we will be unable to accommodate a full complement of patrons this year, we will continue our efforts to ensure that all who purchased tickets from Augusta National will have access in 2022, provided conditions improve,” Augusta National Golf Club chairman Fred Ridley informed through a statement.
The limited number of patrons will indeed be a change for the players compared to what they experienced last year. Competing in an empty course definitely affects a golfer’s performance, and only essential personnel were present at the venue in 2020.
