PV Sindhu loses race for the Asian Championships

PV Sindhu crashed out of the Asian Badminton Championships in her quarterfinal match against He Bingjiao of China. The fourth seed Sindhu began strongly but then lost her way into the match and finally lost the game, 21-15, 14-21, 22-24.

Sindhu was the only Indian hope moving into the fourth day of the tournament after Men’s singles shuttler Ajay Jayaram lost to Chinese Taipei’s Hsu Jen Hao in the second round. But with her losing out in the quarters India’s contention in the Championships has come to an end.

This match versus Bingjao was nothing less than a nail-biter. Sindhu took the first set 21-15 and was looking all set to progress. But you can never expect what is coming next. She trailed the whole second set and lost 21-14.

She was trailing at the beginning of the third set but then cleared her 3 point deficit to level the decider at 12-12. From their the contest went neck to neck till the scoreboard read 20-20. She saved two match points from Bingjao and had one for herself. However to the misfortune of her millions of fans she finally lost the set 24-22. The tiring match went on for over an hour.

Sindhu greeted her fans on twitter conveying her loss.
