Since the inception of One-Day International cricket, only 7 players managed to score centuries in three or more innings consecutively. Here is the list of those players:

• Kumar Sangakkara (4 Innings)

The classy left-handed batsman from Sri Lanka was in a terrific form in the 2015 World Cup, notching up 4 back-to-back hundreds. However, it was the non-Test playing nation, Afghanistan, which brought him to a halt, dismissing him for 7.

• Zaheer Abbas (3 Innings)

Pakistani batsman, Zaheer Abbas, scored 3 consecutive centuries against India during 1982-83 in Pakistan, becoming the first ever batsman to score 3 back-to-back centuries in ODIs.

Saeed Anwar (3 Innings)

The Pakistani left-handed batsman scored 3 centuries in 4 days at Sharjah in the Pepsi Champions Trophy of 1993.

Herschelle Gibbs (3 Innings)

The exciting South African batsman also managed to score a string of 3 centuries, two of them in the 2002 Champions Trophy, still insufficient to see them through to the final of that event.

AB de Villiers (3 Innings)

AB de Villiers is the second of the South Africans to score 3 consecutive ODI centuries, including a century in the match in which Sachin Tendulkar scored 200*. Unfortunately, de Villiers ran out of partners.

Quinton de Kock

And the third of the South Africans on the list, Quinton de Kock also scored 3 hundreds, to give India a torrid time on their tour to South Africa in Dec 2013.
