On Thursday, a young Australian fan was interviewed and was asked who his favourite driver was. Naturally, his answer was local hero Daniel Ricciardo, however, owing to his age, he was unable to pronounce Ricciardo’s name properly. Instead, it came out as ‘Daniel Avocado’, the scene was actually quite adorable.

As it turned out, being a good sport, Renault’s Ricciardo loved the nickname and even met the boy.

The boy’s name is Louie Pope who dreams of being a Formula One driver. Daniel Ricciardo soon granted Pope an audience after the video went viral. Pope even gifted the Perth-born driver an avocado as well.
