Robert Kubica just finished yet another disappointing race at the back of the pack in Brazil. However, he is putting all that behind him and looking ahead to the final race of the season.

Speaking to the media after the race, he confessed that the opening laps were quite decent. In fact, he believed that it was a miracle that he was able to battle with the other cars. Unfortunately, that didn’t last, once everyone got their rhythm and he couldn’t keep up. He also noted that it was very windy and the car was more difficult to drive in that condition.

The Polis driver even touched upon the pit lane incident with Max Verstappen. Apparently, he never realised that the Red Bull was coming, by then, it was too late. Robert Kubica also did not argue about the harshness of the penalty.

He said, “It’s a shame, because I know what it’s like when you fight at the forefront and these things shouldn’t happen especially that we only fight ourselves. I know it’s still a race, but I can only apologise. I couldn’t do anything. I had no idea he was coming.”

The Polish veteran also disclosed that he had a lot of fun on the track, but he had issues keeping the temperatures even. Apparently, the car had no grip and there was not enough energy to go forward and it had no temperature at all. So, the front tires were not working at all and were very cold.

After the second pit stop, the situation got even worse and teammate George Russell built an even bigger advantage. In other words, there was no point in going on a hard tyre strategy when he was already two seconds slower than the rest of the pack.

Finally, on a parting note, he looked ahead to Abu Dhabi and said that he was looking forward to it. He said, “Very good! The best of the season! Good because this is the last race. I have to be honest. It was too long season.”
