The Indian cricket team notched up an impressive win against South Africa, beating them by 203 runs. With this win, they took the lead in the 1st test match in the three-match series.

However, social media nearly lost its mind when Rohit was moved into the opening spot in the order. In fact, many doubted his capability in that role, as Rohit stepped out to open innings along with Mayank Agarwal.

However, Rohit Sharma did a Rohit Sharma and silenced his critics with two magnificent innings in the opening test match.

The Indian batsman scored back to back hundreds in the match and is the sixth Indian to achieve this feat in a test match. In addition to that, Sharma became only the first opener in the history of the game to score more than 300 runs (303) in his maiden stint at the said position.

The English cricketer has often taken to social media to express her admiration for Virat Kohli. This was after the Indian captain’s unbeaten half-century to oust South Africa in 2014. This time, she shared Rohit’s press-conference picture and captioned it as: “ROHITTT……..what a player!!”

Meanwhile. Rohit smashed 13 sixes in the process, making him the first player in the history of the test cricket to do it. If this was not enough, Rohit also became the first batsman to score seven consecutive 50-plus scores in India.
