WWE Summerslam turned out to be a phenomenal event as fans poured into Allegiant Stadium. WWE booked the show with some stellar matches on paper backed with a solid build for two weeks before the show. This created an enormous hype as it pulled wrestling fans worldwide to the new product. As a result, WWE gained record-breaking views for Summerslam, and Roman Reigns loved it.

Even after having an enormous hype around the show, SummerSlam turned out to be a mediocre affair with bad writing and shocking decision-making. One of the things that stood out was the main event of the show that featured Roman Reigns and John Cena. Unfortunately, even though the match turned out to be a decent affair, the return of Brock Lesnar came out of nowhere, and fans went wayward when they heard the entrance score of The Beast.

After the show, the viewership stats came out, and the results were just exceptional. SummerSlam 2021 turned out to be the most-watched and highest-grossing SummerSlam of all time. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns retweeted WWE’s tweet, stating that it is indeed a monumental achievement. Roman stated the stats show a legitimate needle-moving referring to his influence in this year’s SummerSlam as the spotlight was on the Tribal Chief.

Reigns takes a jab at CM Punk and AEW

The tweet from Roman Reigns may seem like a genuine show of emotions, but it shares more than that. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Roman Reigns discussed CM Punk. Reigns described CM Punk as not over John Cena and stated that the guy couldn’t move the needle as The Rock did for WWE. Punk, considered one of the most popular wrestlers globally, recently made his return to wrestling. He debuted for AEW last week, making a comeback after seven years.

The return of Punk turned out to be the talk of the town, and Roman took a jab at him, saying that he is nowhere near Cena and The Rock. Now monitor that word ‘needle’. Roman used the same word in his tweet when he shared his emotions about SummerSlam breaking all records. Well, fans can even add up a little more and say that Roman is bragging about the record. But fans shouldn’t forget that the guy was the major attraction of the show, along with John Cena.
