Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan to Take Part in New T20 Competition

The former legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Muttiah Muralitharan are all set to play in a new T20 cricket tournament. The T20 tournament is set to promote road safety called the Road Safety World Series. Some other names that will take part of the tournament are Jacques Kallis, Virendra Sehwag, Brett Lee and Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

According to a news of ESPNcricinfo, the first season of the tournament will be played in 2020 between February 2 and 16 in Mumbai and will be a part of the following teams: India Legends, Australia Legends, South Africa Legends, Sri Lanka Legends and West Indies Legends.

Further, the news has been said that a total of 110 players will take part and all have confirmed their participation. So far, the franchises have been restricted to the test playing countries only and they could include in the next seasons. The organisers who are promoting this event are Professional Management Group and the Road Safety Cell of the Maharashtra government.

However, it is further understood that the business plan aims to keep the tournament in India for the first ten years. As per the salaries of players, franchises will look after that. But the proceeds will be used by the Road Safety Cell to promote the cause. Along with this, the highlight will be how India ranks at the top of the list of road accidents in the world.

However, Sachin Tendulkar will return to play cricket for the third time in front of a crowd  since he announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in 2013.
