Romero‘s journey to Tottenham was not without its twists and turns. He initially joined the Premier League side on loan from Serie A club Atalanta in August 2021. But, a year later, he made the move permanent.

On the international stage, Cristian Romero has been nothing short of exceptional. In 2021, he was pivotal in guiding Argentina to victory in the Copa America. He was a vital member of the Argentine team that clinched the FIFA World Cup in Qatar the following year. Currently, Romero is busy representing Argentina in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign. Where he helped his team keep a clean sheet against Ecuador in the first qualifying fixture.
