Ryan Reynolds-owned Wrexham was on a 10-match unbeaten streak before facing Accrington Stanley. However, unfortunately for the Welsh club, Accrington defeated them 2-0. From the looks of it, Andy Holt, the boss of the winning side seemed to fire a shot at Ryan Reynolds after the win. The social media popularity of the Deadpool star dragged the feud further into the public eye. It was an unexpected taunt over the prices of tickets.

Yesterday’s result also means that Wrexham is now out of the top 3 in the League Two table. However, they likely wouldn’t panic in the situation as they faced similar circumstances last season.

A few hours before the game, Accrington Stanley decided to increase the price of the ticket. The fans of the Welsh club expressed their disappointment with the sudden increase of five pounds. But, the home side made the argument that they had to increase the security for the full house of away fans. In response, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham announced that they would reduce the prices of tickets by five pounds for the reverse fixture in March. However, Accrington chairman Andy Holt expressed his displeasure on the timing of the statement.

Unfortunately, Wrexham ended up losing the match with a 2-0 scoreline. Goals from Tommy Leigh and Rosaire Longelo were enough for the win. They also dominated Wrexham with more shots on goal. In response to this result, Andy Holt trolled Wrexham and Ryan Reynolds. He said, “Accrington 2 Hollywood nil. I think @VancityReynolds should cut prices by a tenner @Wrexham_AFC.  Safe journey home folks Get that on @netflix Ryan lad.

Without a doubt, this was quite an unexpected statement by the Accrington Stanley boss. It looks like the trolling has not gone well even with the fans of his club. In the comments of his social media post, his fans were quick to express their displeasure. This is also because the fans want the owner to focus on solving bigger fires at the club.

The current situation of Accrington Stanley and Wrexham

This is not the first time Andy Holt has made the news for his social media activity. A month ago, he made a statement on his Twitter handle that said, ” So now @ASFCofficial is up for sale. I won’t let the club fail, but I’m done. He has not yet found a new investor for the club.

From a sporting view, the club is currently doing well in League Two, like Wrexham. They are in the seventh position and are in contention for the playoffs. However, their long-term future remains a worry for the community.

In contrast to this, the Wrexham community will feel safe and secure under the ownership of their popular owners. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have continued to invest money in the club. This has helped the club improve massively on and off the pitch. After earning a promotion from the National League, they are currently doing well in the fourth position despite the defeat. The positive atmosphere at the club will surely help the players bounce back from the disappointing loss.
