The Wrexham revolution is kicking into further gear! After Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s takeover in 2020, the club has seen unprecedented growth and success, and the atmosphere around the club in general has everybody buzzing. This is further elucidated by midfielder Elliot Lee’s recent comments, calling himself ‘an adopted Wrexham boy’.

The Wrexham midfielder Lee has spoken candidly about his sheer delight in playing for Wrexham recently. Lee was signed by the Red Dragons on a free transfer from Luton Town in the 2022 summer transfer window and has since lit up the club with his superb performances. Now, he has elaborated on his love for the club as he looks to dethrone Paul Mullin as the club’s top scorer and talisman.

Paul Mullin has been the highest goal scorer for Wrexham over the past two seasons, and he’s very much a crowd favorite at the Racecourse Ground. The Red Dragons also have nicknamed Mullin the ‘Non-league Haaland’.  However, after a stellar start to the season, Elliot Lee is looking at challenging Mullin for that title. In a recent interview, Lee hailed the owners, staff, and how the club was being run while expressing his love for the club.

As per the Daily Mail, Elliot said, “I always joke around with the lads and I always say that I’ll still be in Wrexham whether I’m kit man or I’m in the stands!” “I’ll still be here in 10, 20, 30 years time. I’m very much an adopted Wrexham boy now and I just love it.”

“From top to bottom, the club is just unbelievable,” “The owners, the staff, the manager, the coaches, the lads, the physios, the chefs, the groundsmen, everyone. I get on so well with all of them. I go in with a smile on my face every day and all I want to do is just keep building on what we’ve already built.”
It certainly seems like Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s positive attitude as owners are filtering down to all levels of the club. But on the pitch, Elliot Lee has been instrumental in the club’s fortunes this season in the absence of star striker Paul Mullin.

Mullin couldn’t appear for Wrexham for a month and a half after suffering an injury in pre-season. But Elliot Lee had taken up the mantle and has been scoring freely for the Red Dragons while Mullin was on the sidelines.

Lee scored 14 goals in 50 games for the Welsh club last season and has already scored 7 in 8 games in EFL League Two so far this season. Lee has also netted 1 goal each in Wrexham’s last two games on the trot against Doncaster and Grimsby Town, unfortunately missing out on scoring against Stockport. However, the Welsh soccer club has now been rejuvenated by Mullin’s return to the club. Mullin came on as a substitute against Doncaster and then started against Grimsby Town, as the Welsh club won 3-0.
